04.02.2026Light City Feldkirch – Where Light Brings People Together
At the heart of the lights: NIGHT INN Hotel, proud main sponsor of the light art festival.
For four days, Feldkirch is transformed. As dusk falls over the town in October, façades start to tell stories, public squares glow, and hidden alleys sparkle with light. This is Light City Feldkirch.
And right at the center of it all: the NIGHT INN Hotel – modern, urban, and just steps from the spectacle.
As a proud main sponsor of the fourth edition of this exceptional festival, we were delighted to support the unique fusion of light, sound, and architecture. Because what’s created here is more than art – it’s an experience that connects people.
Guests wander through the historic streets, stop, look up together – and share a single moment of awe.
Curated this year by Andrea Möller, Light City Feldkirch presented an impressive panorama of international light art – from the immersive installation “Submergence” by Squidsoup to the poetic projection “Feldkirch Stories” by Polish artist Robert Sochacki.
The theme of “Mobility & Speed” also found its way into the programme through the Porsche Headlights competition, featuring award-winning works such as “9 out of 11” by RatAess.
More than 37,000 visitors were captivated by the light art – peaceful, fascinated, and united.
“At NIGHT INN, we believe in the power of experiences that bring people together. That’s why we were proud to be a host – welcoming artists and guests from near and far, and supporting a festival that radiates from the heart of the city far beyond its borders,” says René Gmeiner, Managing Director of the NIGHT INN Hotel.
One of the festival’s most memorable moments was the performance by Jan Philip Scheibe. With his mobile installation “Shouldered Streetlight”, he wandered through the streets carrying a glowing lamp on his shoulder, moving slowly and almost silently. A homage to light itself – guiding without glare – and a gentle reminder of the quiet strength of art in public spaces.
Light City Keeps Shining – Even in the Off Year 2026
Light City Feldkirch remains a biennial festival – taking place every two years.
The next major edition is planned for autumn 2027. But even in 2026, Feldkirch won’t go dark. With its Spotlight format, the Light City team will bring selected light artworks and artists into public spaces throughout the city.
Smaller, carefully staged installations keep the connection between art, the city, and its people alive – creating new perspectives where you might not expect them.
The NIGHT INN Hotel stays closely involved – as a place to stay, a meeting point, and a supporter from the very beginning.
